Documentary Description

This BBC documentary explores the facts and mysteries surrounding the ancient temple that is Angkor Wat. Located now in Cambodia Angkor Wat has brought intrigue to locals and visitors alike.

Built in the early 12th century for the king Suryavarman II as his state temple and capital city. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious centre since its foundation. The temple is the epitome of the high classical style of Khmer architecture.
