Link to Cutting edge: A very British storm junkie documentary
Documentary Description
Stuart Robinson is one of
life’s true eccentrics. He works as an IT consultant in Leicestershire
and seems, to all outward appearances, to be entirely ordinary. But this
is a man obsessed with foul weather, so much so that whenever a tornado
or hurricane is brewing anywhere in the world, he can’t wait to get
there.
To date, he has gone chasing after 30 tornados and 6 hurricanes. When
the wind starts blowing and the trees start snapping and the power lines
come crashing down, he begins to shake with excitement. The harder it
blows, the happier he is. “Absolutely incredible!” he shouts. “It really
is! There is nowhere I would be right now than on the outer edge of
this hurricane! Nowhere!”
The trouble for Stuart is that the real storm lies at home with his long
suffering partner and soon to be wife, Alison. The scale of Alison’s
disapproval of being a “storm WAG” is at first limited to a roll of the
eyes. But soon enough Stuart's obsession comes up against the
responsibilities of married life, and he has got a few important choices
to make.
